Lord Nrisimha Deva

To prove the word of His devotee Prahlada, that the Lord is present everywhere-even in a pillar-Lord Sri Hari appeared in a very wonderful form which had never been seen by anyone, neither fully human nor fully lion. In this way the Lord appeared in the assembly hall in a very strange form. A huge sound was heard, like the sound of annihilation, again and again resonating from all directions. The fiery rays from the face of the Lord created a heat that burned all the demons. By this loud sound, the pregnant wives of the demons started to self-abort the foetuses in their wombs. The body of the Lord had very long nails, and a terrifying countenance. When demons came to fight Him, He killed them simply by the speed of His breath.
